In work-related accidents, often a part of the settlement process entails a permanency evaluation and report.  This is usually completed and submitted by the patient’s treating physician with a concurrent, IME report submitted by the insurance carrier’s physician.  Our part in this process is to accurately report the permanent impairment (if any),  whether a patient has reached his/her maximum medical improvement (MMI) and affix severity ratings, consistent with the rules and regulations of the New York State Worker’s Compensation Board.
